At DGT, we pride ourselves on being able to deliver a first class service every time. With a wealth of experience in the industry, our pro-active and helpful approach to detailing and design can be of huge benefit, ensuring full coordination within the design team in order to deliver the building on time and on budget. We can also help reduce costs when involved in a project from the start by suggesting more efficient ways to meet design requirements.
Our experienced team of structural steel detailers are able to utilize Tekla Structures software, the market leader in 3-dimensional structural modeling technology. Combining this with high-powered computers enables us model, render and fly-through the most complex of structures.
The drawing models can be exported electronically be email to design teams or third parties, enabling them to manipulate the model in three dimensions, in real time, without the requirement for specialist software. This has proved to be vital on more complex structures, by giving the design team clear understanding of the arrangement of the structural frame to ensure full architectural coordination and integration of services.
Our 3-dimensional models also assist with assuring accuracy, as information can be passed directly to the CNC saws, drills, plasma cutting machine, cope machine and flat/angle line via DSTV data exported from the model. This ensures the finished member accurately mimics the modeled item without the need for any human intervention. Main steel members can also receive pop marks as part of the automated drilling process indicating to the welders exactly where plates and cleats are to be positioned.
As part of the modeling process, we produce various fabrication and material lists sub-divided into deliverable and erectable lorry loads. This ensures a constant flow of steel to site, in the correct order, with the minimum amount of lay-down area and double-handling required. Consequently, construction times can be kept to an absolute minimum.
Our cladding drawings typically comprise general arrangement drawings along with highly detailed sections through all of the key areas of the construction. Our drawings are then used to prepare cutting lists and cladding schedules for procurement of materials and panels for site.
